COP30: Countries lack consensus on key climate issues in final stretch
The 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30) in Belém is entering a decisive week with the direct participation of ministers from various countries to try to reach the required consensus on the agreements guiding climate action in the coming years. On Sunday evening (Nov. 16), a summary of the COP presidency’s consultations on four agenda items was published, including the call for expanded climate targets, nationally determined contributions (NDCs), and public financing from developed to developing countries.
