Graham's 5th term bid cleared of Project 2025 writer

(The Center Square) – Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham’s bid for a fifth term in the U.S. Senate won’t include Paul Dans among the challengers in the June 9 primary. Graham, more often than not a staunch ally of second-term Republican President Donald Trump, is expected to have a lighter challenge from Mark Lynch in the six-candidate field. Dans withdrew his name Friday, the last day he could do so, and endorsed Lynch. Dans is known for his work pivotal to the nearly 1,000-page document known as Project 2025. It was work completed at the Heritage Foundation in Washington prior to the 2024 presidential race, often linked to Trump, and considered a conservative model for policy. Dans is a former lawyer within the first Trump administration. Lynch gained success through his appliance business. Graham has the president’s endorsement, though the two have clashed at times.
